Why I recommend this:

You might have heard of SKAM, a Norwegian web series so successful that it has prompted several international remakes (including a French and Spanish one). Italy’s version of SKAM might be the most acclaimed one yet. SKAM Italia follows the format of the original series, focussing on a group of teenagers, with each season following a different main character. The show depicts a transitory and defining moment in its protagonists’ lives, as they each approach together the end of an era. What I found particularly well executed was the way communication among them is depicted, as we get to see the characters’ texts, WhatsApp group chats, Instagram and other social media posts in what I felt was a very effective and natural manner—part, that is, of their everyday existence.

SKAM can be watched on TimVision, the Italian TV series streaming service.
