But where ARE you, though?
Bored at home, or longing for holidays far, far away from your bedroom? The game is simple: you are left on a random Street View point on Google map: from the most desolate roads in Australia to a Danish port or the streets of a small Italian village. You can navigate Google maps as far as you want from this point – this aim is simply to guess where you are. You can play this game alone or against a friend.
Why I recommend this:
Besides the much-needed escapism, this game makes me explore bits of the planet that I perhaps otherwise would not go to, or pay attention to: motorways, housing estates, small countryside roads. It also helps scrutinize the space around me in a different way: every bits of the environment I see can contain a clue to help guess where I am: the type of cars I encounter, the type of cows in the field nearby, the signs on the road, the publicity posters… Every bit of the everyday life, whether familiar or far away, suddenly bears a new significance, and questions the way we see the world around us. Refreshing in times of confinement.
Note that you can only play once a day in the free version of the game, which might be for the best as it is a very, very, addictive game…
