Blaq Italiano is a wonderful series of 100 interviews to Black Italians who live in Italy and abroad. It is an extensive project that finally brings to the fore Italian diversity. It can be watched online for free HERE. Blaq Italiano is the latest production by Fred Kudjo Kurownu, Italian filmmaker based in Brooklyn. Among his other works two documentaries stand out: Blaxpoitalian, on African-American, Afro-Latino and Afro-Italian actors in Italian Cinema, and 18 Ius Soli, on the struggle for citizenship of Italians born in Italy to immigrant parents. Both documentaries have been ordered in DVD and digital copy and will soon be available at the Templeman library of the University of Kent.
